Classes

Our classes are organized for the purpose of “Teaching You to Train And Gain Control of Your  Dog”.

Classes are for all breeds of dogs – purebred and mixed breed dogs.

All of our training classes are held each Tuesday evening at the National Guard Armory in Anderson, IN. The Armory is located at 125 S Scatterfield Road.

The cost for 5 (five) weeks of classes is $80.00. Classes are open to all breeds of dogs - pure bred and mixed breed dogs. We accept cash or check.
Class Enrollment Form

We start classes every five weeks. You may pre-enroll by visiting the Indiana National Guard Armory any Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. And you may enroll on the first night of classes. See dates below.

• Cost:  $100.00 for eight weeks

For any last minute date changes to classes, contact us.

In the event of a weather advisory, we may cancel classes. If there is a question about class cancellations, please contact us. We will have cancellations announced on a local radio station.

Tuesday Night Training Schedule

• Utility Class and Open Class
  6:30 pm to 9:00 pm 
• Kindergarten S.T.A.R.Puppy Training Class
  7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• Beginners/C.G.C. Basic Obedience Training Class
  7:15 pm to 8:00 pm
• Novice Class & Rally Class
  8:15 pm to 9:15 pm

In the event of severe weather we may cancel classes. If you have a question about cancellations or simply want to verify that a class has been cancelled, contact us. We will also post cancelled classes on the home page of our website too, when possible.

We also offer classes for individuals who are interested in competing in AKC Events to obtain AKC Titles on their dog. We have several instructors who have many years of experience in training, showing, and titling their dogs in Obedience Events and the newest AKC Companion Event "Rally". Some of our AOTC members also belong to the Anderson Kennel Club and show in AKC Conformation Events and have tilted their dogs through to their AKC Championship. Several of our members are AKC Approved Obedience and Rally Judges.

Kindergarten/S.T.A.R. Puppy Training Class

Date and Time:	Tuesdays, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Where Held:	National Guard Armory
Cost:	$80.00 for five weeks 6th night for AKC Star Puppy Testing for those completing the class. AOTC Class Enrollment Form
Qualifications:	Puppies 5 months or younger. Must be current on shots.
What is Covered:	Socialization Housebreaking Behavior problems Control - teaching puppy to walk on a leash Control - teaching puppy stationery exercises - sit, down, and stand General Health Care
What to Bring:	Puppies are required to be current on their shots.  Bring the most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling. Equipment you will need for the KPT classes are: Recommended leather leash and buckle collar. No flexi-leads will be used in class and are not recommended to bring puppy to or from class. Small blanket or rug. It is okay to bring your pets favorite treat or toy to class. In hot weather you will want to bring drinking water for your puppy. After the Classes:	After completing the classes, you will be eligible to take the AKC Star Puppy Test on the 6th week.

Beginner's Basic / C.G.C. / Advanced Canine Good Citizenship Classes		View a larger image.

Where Held:	National Guard Armory
Cost:	$80.00 for five weeks AOTC Class Enrollment Form
Who Qualifies:	Dogs who are 5 months of age or older. Must be current on shots.
What is Covered:	Beginning Basic/C.G.C. Obedience consists of all obedience exercises designed to allow the dog to pass AKC C.G.C. (AKC Canine Good Citizenship) Heel and Sit ( dog learns to walk at your side and sit when you stop), Sit Stay, Down Stay, Stand Stay (teaches the dog to sit, down or stand in place), Recall (teaching the dog to come when called), Any behavior problems an owner may be having with their dog, and   Responsible Dog Ownership.
What to Bring:	Bring your most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling. Dogs are required to be current on their shots.  Recommend leather leash. For your convenience, we have Handmade leather leashes for sale. View and print general instructions for this class

Novice Obedience Class
