Anderson Obedience Training Club OBEDIENCE CLASSES

• Obedience Classes are open to all breeds of pure bred and mixed breed dogs 
•  We are also happy to have Junior Handlers (those under age 16) participate in our classes (with an adult present on site)
• Obedience Classes are held on Tuesday nights in the National Guard Armory, 125 S Scatterfield Rd, Anderson, Indiana 
• All dogs are required to be up-to-date on shots and provide current shot records

TUESDAY NIGHTS:

• 6:30-8 pm - Class Enrollment available
• 6:30-9 pm - Utility Clas and Open Class 
• 7-8 pm - Kindergarten / S.T.A.R.Puppy Training Class 
• 7:15-8:15 pm - Beginner / CGC Basic Obedience Training Class 
• 8:15-9:15 pm - Novice Class and Rally Class

Tuesdays, 7-8 pm |  5-week session | $100

Week 6 available for AKC Star Puppy Testing for those completing the class.

Qualifications:Puppies 5 months or younger. Must be current on shots.  

What is Covered:

• Socialization, Potty Training, Behavior problems, General Health Care
• Control - teaching puppy to walk on a leash
• Control - teaching puppy stationery exercises - sit, down, and stand

What to Bring:

• Puppies are required to be current on their shots.  Bring the most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling.
• Recommended leather leash and buckle collar. No flexi-leads will be used in class, and are not recommended to bring puppy to or from class.
• Small blanket or rug.
• It is okay to bring your pets favorite treat or toy to class.
• In hot weather, you will want to bring drinking water for your puppy.

Tuesdays, 7:15-8:15 pm | 5-week session | $100

Qualification Dogs 5 months of age or older.  Must be current on shots. 

What is Covered:

• Beginning Basic/C.G.C. Obedience consists of all obedience exercises designed to allow the dog to pass AKC C.G.C. (AKC Canine Good Citizenship)
• Heel and Sit ( dog learns to walk at your side and sit when you stop),
• Sit Stay, Down Stay, Stand Stay (teaches the dog to sit, down or stand in place),
• Recall (teaching the dog to come when called),
• Any behavior problems an owner may be having with their dog, and  
• Responsible Dog Ownership.

What to Bring:

• Bring your most current shot/health record from your veterinarian when enrolling. Dogs are required to be current on their shots. 
• Recommend 6-ft leather leash. 

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 8:15-9:15 pm

What is Covered: Basic Obedience Exercises  

Who Qualifies: Members who have completed the Beginner's Basic Obedience Class.

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 6:30-9 pm  

Cost: Membership in Club  

What is Covered: Open Exercises  

Who Qualifies: Members and dogs who have earned their AKC CD title. 

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 6:30-9 pm  

Cost: Membership in Club  

What is Covered: Utility Exercises  

Who Qualifies: Members and dogs who have earned their AKC CDX title. 

Day & Time: Tuesdays, 8:15-9:15pm

Cost: Membership in Club  

What is Covered: Rally Obedience Exercises  

Who Qualifies: Members working their dogs in Rally; levels are adjusted accoringly for participants 

For your convenience, you may download, print, fill out and send us the AOTC Training Class Enrollment Form (link below) along with your check before classes begin. You may also enroll on the first night of classes or you may pre-enroll by visiting the Indiana National Guard Armory any Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:30-8pm.  You may also view and print general instructions for this class via the link below.

Class may be canceled for inclement weather or when the Armory is closed (i.e, for National Holidays or on Election Day). In those instances, please check our Facebook page for updated announcements.
